Beauty Africa, the second international trade exhibition
for the cosmetic, hair, health, nail and beauty industry
of Africa took place at the MTN Sundome in Northriding
in May 2000 and has firmly established itself as the
annual international trading platform for the beauty
industry of Africa.
Leading international companies and many new small
and medium sized companies exhibited at the fair. In
total, 268 exhibitors from 18 countries displayed over
900 products and services at the industry's premier
meeting place.
International pavilions included France, Germany, UK,
USA, Italy, Thailand, Taiwan, Turkey, Greece, Indonesia,
United Arab Emirates (UAE), Zimbabwe and Kenya.
The show recorded a 43% growth in visitor numbers,
attracting 11 116 visitors from all sectors of the industry,
including distributors and retailers, hair and beauty
salon owners, therapists and natural health professionals.
Beauty Africa 2001 will be held at the MTN Sundome
from 3-5 June next year has incorporated a number of
exciting innovations.Beauty Africa 2001 will feature
three exhibitions under one roof, namely:
Beauty Africa -The exhibition will include products
and services from the cosmetic, hair, nail and beauty
sectors and each industry section will be clearly identifiable.
The event will also host the 2001 South African National
and International Hair Championships.

Natural Products Africa - The event will incorporate
natural products from health and medicine, beauty, body
and skin care products and health foods and beverages.
Demonstrations and events in this sector will run simultaneously.
Formula to Finish - This event will feature
packaging, raw material and cosmetic processing. Based
on the concept of the Cosmaprof show in Balogna, this
event is set to become an important bi-annual gathering
for leading companies in the industry.
The exhibitions, which are supported by the major industry
associations will be enhanced by the planned 'All Africa
Conference' which will be organised by the Cosmetics,
Toiletries and Fragrance Association (CTFA). "Formula
to Finish will complete Beauty Africa, as every component
of the industry will be represented from the manufacturing
processes to the finished products", say Cassale

Africa 2001 will continue to incorporate conferences,
industry competitions, demonstrations and exciting hair,
fashion and beauty events to maintain the fast tempo
and interactive nature of the event," continues
